What Is My Harley Worth? Harley-Davidson Value Guide

What is your Harley worth? It depends on five things: model and year, miles, condition, title, and modifications. Price guides give you a starting point. A real offer needs someone to look at your bike.

Harley-Davidson value: what moves the price

1. Model and year

Touring bikes like the Street Glide, Road Glide and Road King hold value well because so many riders want them. Special years matter too: 2003 100th Anniversary models get their own searches and their own buyers. Older Evo and Shovelhead bikes are valued more as classics than as used bikes.

2. Miles

Lower is better, but a well-maintained Harley with high miles is still worth real money. What counts is how it was looked after.

3. Condition

Paint, chrome, tires, leaks, and whether it starts and runs right. Small things add up. A dead battery is minor; engine or transmission noises are not.

4. Title

A clean title is worth the most. A salvage title lowers value but doesn’t make a bike worthless. See selling a salvage-title motorcycle.

5. Modifications

Pipes, wheels, bars, stage kits and custom paint rarely add as much value as they cost. Some buyers will pay extra for quality parts; others prefer stock. Keep the original parts if you have them.

Blue Book, NADA and trade-in value

Kelley Blue Book and J.D. Power (NADA) give trade-in and retail ranges for most Harleys. Use them as a guide, not a price tag. They can’t see your bike’s condition or mods, and they often miss what older and custom Harleys are actually worth. Your trade-in value at a dealer will usually be near the bottom of the range.
